Bipolar disorder is accountable from mood swings shifting from mania to depression where we name it as episodes of depression and mania. Together with the changes of mood, serious alterations in attitudes, behavior, activity and energy take place. Please find below the signs and symptoms:

Although the symptoms for depressive stage of illness are alike; bipolar disorder should not be mixed with clinical depression. The majority of the patients with bipolar disorder are suffering from “highs” and “lows” of the disease where the highs represents the phases of mania and the lows represent the stages of depression. We should have a closer look to swings. They can be very severe ranging from excessive energy to deep misery.
The swings unfortunately affect patient’s quality of life, it has a negative impact on their normal life activities. Bipolar disorder should not be confused with ordinary mood changes.
